I had a dream in the wee hours of August 9^th. I was inside a building. I don’t know if it was a house or what, but I was inside. Outside I could hear a commotion. The sounds of bombs and gunfire erupted in the land. This went on nonstop on American soil. When it would cease, I remember going outside and it looked barren. God had given me a vision and a dream in 2003 about an invasion subtitled, The Invaders, recorded in my book, “The Fate of America.” One thing I noticed was how at peace I was during this time of difficulty. As I recall in biblical times, God allowed the enemy to inhabit the land and waste it. There were such judgment on Judah, Israel, and surrounding nations wherein their land would be invaded and wasted. Will God allow this to take place on American soil? And if so, why? Well, take a look at the dialogue between God and Habakkuk. He asked God two questions:

 

1.      Why does God allow wicked practices to continue in Judah?

2.      Why will God use wicked people to punish Judah?

 

Let’s replace Judah with America. And go to The Book of Habakkuk and consider God’s response to the prophet’s questions and note that He is the same God as He was then and has not changed His mind about sin and its consequences. The Bible warns us that you reap what you sow. If you sow evil, sin, war, etc., the very thing you sow will come back to you. Take a look at America who says in God we trust and one nation under God and note her condition of idolatry, oppression, injustice and immorality. It’s quite disturbing to see corruption, deception that plagues this nation and surrounding nations. The sound of bomb explosions and gunfire was going on all around me but I had a sense of peace. That comes from understanding God’s ways, His plan and will and knowing He is in sovereign control.

 

On August 16^th, while I was on my knees in prayer I heard the Spirit of the Lord say “Amos.” I arose and went to the book of Amos and what caught my attention is the question in chapter 3:3. Can two walk together except they be agreed? Is America on the same page as God? Is the Church on the same page as God? If they were it would be no need to call them to repentance and obedience.

 

The purpose of the Book of Amos was to pronounce God’s judgment upon Israel, the Northern Kingdom, for their complacency, idolatry, and oppression of the poor as the wealthy people of Israel were enjoying peace and prosperity. They’d become greedy and unfair, self-sufficient and had a false sense of security. They were cruel and indifferent towards the poor. They lacked spiritual integrity and obedience to God. Looks familiar doesn’t it? God sent His warnings through the prophet, but they didn’t take heed. As you can see, God’s people are not exempt from judgment. He would allow Israel to be taken over by foreigners, who would make them slaves. 

 

Amos was courageous and stood his ground against sin despite negative reaction from the false religious leaders. That’s why judgment is coming to the house of God first. Those of the house of God don’t like correction, rebuke, and chastening. The Amaziah spirit is running rampant in the church. It tries to silence the prophets, twist their prophecy, and accuse them of conspiracy, (chapter 7:10-13). People, especially leaders don’t like to be confronted with the sin issue. A prophet’s primary task is to proclaim the word of God, point out sin, explain its consequences, and call men and women to repentance and obedience. They are authorized by God to do that. Like Amaziah, most leaders are more concerned about position, than God’s prophetic message. Some of them figure they are God’s only prophets to man and really don’t care to hear a word from anyone unless you are a household name. There were a few calamities that hit home and most of the leaders were in denial that it was judgment. Why they do that? The answer is because it reflects back on them. Shines the spotlight on them and their lack. God is holding them responsible. The words of Amos to Amaziah in chapter 7:14, “O, King Amaziah, I didn’t go to seminary, or the school of the prophets to receive any special education or training to speak a word to you and surrounding nations. Neither did it run in my family. I was drafted in to prophesy to you and surrounding nations what thus saith the Lord. 

 

The question remains, will God allow America to be sacked by her enemies leaving only remnants of her former prosperity (Amos 3:11-12)? Will He allow America to be caught like fish in the enemies net (Habakkuk 1:14-17)? Well, look at the like semblance of what was going on in Amos’s time and how evident they are in our day. They have a striking resemblance and God declares in His Word that He changes not. They were ripe for punishment. Everything that they were guilty of then is what we model today in society.

 

Amos had a series of visions of judgments upon Israel. He started out with each saying Thus hath the Lord God shown unto me:

 

Although Amos interceded for Israel, God still executed judgment upon them because of their continued disobedience.

 

Now God has given to me a vision concerning an invasion (an entrance made with the intent of overrunning or occupying) which is something I don’t want to see happen. And in the vision of August 1, 2007 He brought back to me the revelation of a comet He’d given me 12 years ago. All I can do as a spokesperson for God is intercede like any other true prophet would do. Intercession prolongs the judgments, and allows people time to repent and get their house in order. But, if they continue to ignore God, then that’s an invitation for visitation. God sends warnings before executing judgment. Rejection to warnings bring fulfillment of the judgment.

 

 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? Shall there be evil in a city, and the Lord hath not done it?

Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he reveals his secret unto his servants the prophets. Amos 3:6,7
